1972 Porsche 911T Targa Exterior Colour: Silver Metallic Interior: Black VIN: 9112110268 Model Year: 1972
1972 marked the year Porsche repositioned the oil tank in front of the rear wheel in search of better weight distribution, adding an external “Ölklappe” filler for the oil tank. This change was quickly reversed for the 1973 model year, rumoured to be as a result of filling station attendants mistaking the oil tank for a petrol tank! For 1972, Porsche also increased engine displacement to 2341cc, fitted the Type 915 transmission and changed from “Deep 6” to “Flat 6” Fuchs wheels.
This particular 1972 911T spent much of its early life in California before being exported to Girona on 2007. A further 8 years later it found its way to the UK and was acquired by its current keeper in 2016. Copies of the Californian title and Spanish import/registration documents are included in the history folder.
The current owner has spared little expense maintaining his 911, with invoices from Canford Classics for suspension refurbishment, gearbox rebuild, engine rebuild, brake system rebuild and Leather Deser Sports Seats. The most recent service was carried out at Cameron Sports Cars. This extensive works list has enabled the current owner to enjoy in the region of 20,000 miles of happy motoring throughout the UK and Europe, mostly with the Targa roof removed to make the most of the fine weather!
Summer is coming, what better way to enjoy the fine weather than in an early 911 Targa – call us to arrange a viewing!
