Overview

Canford Classics are pleased to offer for sale this matching numbered 1972 911S, produced on 1st April 1972 and registered in Germany 1st May 1972. It remained in Germany until 2003 when it was imported into the UK by the German owner Mr Preil. Since then, there has been 3 UK owners, the current owner since 2017.

This 911S has an impressive history file with multiple receipts detailing works commissioned whilst in Germany with all the part numbers hand written! The important Certificate of Authenticity confirms that the engine is the original. Currently presented in “Light Yellow” the Certificate confirms the original colour was “Gold Metallic”, a rich and rare colour for a 1972 911. Any potential buyer may decide to return the car to its original colour and Canford would be able to do this for you.

Being a 1972 “Oelklappe” model, this 2.4S is particularly desirable with its external oil filler door. A one year only feature seen only on the 1972 911 and the 959.  Inside the cabin you are greeted by the most comfortable leather sports seats surrounded by everything you would expect to see in a 2.4S. Turn the key and enjoy, the drive is sublime. It performs as a 2.4S should: great power delivery, great suspension and a wonderful shifting 5 speed gearbox. This is a favourite here at Canford. We have known this car for many years and hope whoever continues their journey in this rare little S will keep in touch with us, With, new tyres and recent comprehensive service this 2.4 S is ready to be used and enjoyed.
