Canford Classics are pleased to offer for sale this Metallic Blue Porsche 911. This car started life as an ordinary 911 SC, originally sold in 1981 by Lancaster Garages, Colchester to Mr Tipple. He owned the car for a short period before selling on to Mr. Graham in August 1982 as detailed in the original Driver’s Manual along with 15 service stamps up to 80,000 miles.

In August of 2020, keen for post lockdown fun, the current custodian purchased the car from D M Historics. After a period of use, the car arrived at Canford Classics for where a broad range of works would be undertaken. The ‘shell was prepped for paint, changing hue from Ice Blue Metallic to a more period Blue Metallic. The iconic 2.7RS ducktail remained, whilst fibreglass bumpers were replaced with steel items including a new bonnet and front wings. 

Underneath, the suspension and full braking system has been restored with new suspension bushes, bearings and shock absorbers along with a fresh application of powdercoat. The Cookie Cutter wheels have been replaced with a set of genuine 6J front and 7J rear Fuchs wheels, which have also been restored to be more in-keeping with the 2.7RS styling.

In the cabin, much of the original interior remains. The original Sports Seats have been retrimmed in Delphinus Blue Nappa leather and the headliner replaced. A period style Blaupunkt radio sits discreetly in the dash, but houses a modern DAB receiver and Bluetooth connectivity. A sporty Momo Prototipo steering wheel provides an engaging connection to the road ahead and yet remains classic and classy.

The engine is surely this cars party piece! The original 3.0 motor has been fully stripped, detailed and rebuilt, with an increase in capacity to 3.2 litre. The original injection system has been removed in favour of a modern electronic fuel injection set up, utilising Jenvey throttle bodies. The Canford Classics manufactured twin exit exhaust barks as the engine fires into life, with 286HP and 243ft-lbs of torque at the disposal of the driver’s right foot!

Prior to these works at Canford  the benefited from a gearbox rebuild and replacement of the oil pipes.
