Overview
Canford Classics are pleased to offer for sale this UK RHD Porsche 356C, described by many as Porsche’s most refined incarnation of their landmark post-war sports car. Production of the 356 started in the late 1940’s and lasted until the mid 1960’s, giving way to the 911. This particular 1964 example presents as originally intended - Light Ivory paintwork with contrasting red interior - and was first registered late in October of 1963 by AFN Ltd.

The V5 shows four previous owners, the first being Chichester Antiques Ltd. Correspondence details a short ownership, quickly covering some 40,000 miles before a part exchange back to AFN. For a while, the car was owned by Annabel Giles the wife of Midge Ure of Ultravox!
The cabin is as intended, but for the addition of a period correct switch to activate an additional fuel pump - fitted to aid priming of the fuel system for initial start up. The 6v electrical system remains, powering a Blaupunkt radio which sits perfectly at home in the centre of the dash. Correct style square weave carpet complement the red seats and the addition of rear seat belts top off what is a lovely place to be.
The car is supplied with new period correct Michelin tyres and new Koni rear shock absorbers and represents a rare opportunity to acquire an original UK supplied 356C.
