Overview

This Beige Grey 1968 Porsche was originally sold in Burbank, California and imported from Arizona in 2010. It arrived to us as an engine-less 912, and with a spare 911 engine waiting for a suitable car, the decision was made to combine the two!

The shell was stripped and cleaned back before being painted in Porsche Beige Grey. Restoration works were extensive and included: all fuel lines, brake lines, all brake part components, full interior, 911 gauges, Momo Prototipo steering wheel, suspension, all shocks, all cables, heater system and all bearings and bushes. The 5 speed 901 gearbox has been fully rebuilt and detailed. New drive shafts were fitted and heater pods installed, as well as re-plating of all chrome parts, including the wheels and window frames. Even the lights and indicators had the bright work re-chromed, all new window rubbers, all new handbrake system and rebuilt steering rack. Many of the original features such as the foot pedal assembly underwent a full strip and restoration.

This 1968 car now has a fully rebuilt and detailed 911 engine which, whilst not original, is correct for the era. The engine has been stripped down to individual component form, each of which was inspected and measured before being rebuilt and detailed.

The headliner, carpets, sun visors, seats and seat belts were all new items. The result is a very comfortable place to be, and when you need a change from the exhaust note, simply turn on the original working Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio. To enhance the sound from the period correct radio, Canford Classics trimmed and fitted an original style speaker box to the parcel shelf. We also fitted rear seat belts.

These SWB cars are such fun to drive and this 1968 Porsche is sure to please any buyer.
