Canford Classics are excited to offer to the market this 1974 Porsche 914, built and modified aesthetically to 914-6 GT spec. and sporting a rebuilt 2.4L 911 engine. This exciting Porsche was produced in April 1974 and delivered to Jacksonville, USA.
This 914 has documented racing history dating back to 1994, and previous owner details back to 1989/1990. Competition history starts with Chuck Piazza and Andy McNeil with wins in the Savannah Vintage GP and Savannah Historics. Under those same drivers it won the 1996 Savannah Enduro, and a further two races at Roebling Road - Chuck piloting the 914 to victory against various marques and Andy dominating the 914 only race! Later in 1996 the car was sold back to Rick Fairbanks who competed in several events including the HSR Daytona, HSR Savannah and several Walter Mittys.
The car later changed hands and eventually found its way to John Forbes of Black Forest Racing, Oregon. John used the car for light competition before selling it to the current owner, who purchased and imported the car to the UK in 2015.
Since being in the UK, the current owner has spent a considerable sum to make this 914 ready for action. Most recently a £23,000 invoice for a full engine and gearbox rebuilt at Redtek, which is detailed as part of a well organised history folder. This includes correspondence from previous owners, photographs of the car racing and details of a limited run picture.
The car is ready for viewing at our premises and will be sold with a full MOT.
