Rolling off the production line in 1974, this original right-hand drive 911 was ordered as a Carrera model and finished in striking Orange. We’re proud to offer this special example to market — a rare and beautifully maintained piece of Porsche history.
The 1974 MFI Carrera Coupe is a rare model, with only 45 right-hand-drive cars imported into the UK and just three originally finished in this colour. This example comes with a comprehensive history file detailing all works completed over the years. It’s clear that the long-term current owner, along with the previous four custodians, cherished this car and spared no expense in its care.
During its early years, the 911 was converted to 3.0 RS specification, featuring lightweight panels and performance upgrades. Seeking additional power, a 3.2-litre short-stroke motor was later fitted — delivering the lively, responsive character for which these early Carreras are renowned.
Under current ownership (spanning 20 years), the car has benefited from extensive investment: approximately £30,000 spent on the engine build and a further £10,000 on the gearbox alone. The engine is carburetted and twin-plugged, paired with a close-ratio gearbox and limited-slip differential. Upgraded brakes provide excellent stopping performance, perfectly balancing the car’s fast-road setup.
Currently configured for spirited road use, this 911 can be easily adapted to suit personal requirements — whether that’s continued road enjoyment or potential track use. Alternatively, simply turn the key, listen to that unmistakable flat-six, and enjoy the drive.
