1967 911 SWB
Overview
Canford Classics are delighted to offer a company favourite for sale and what a fun little 911 this is. This "Metallic Gold" 1967 Porsche 911 was transformed in America in the early 2000’s to the R-Gruppe style masterpiece available now, and is ready for spirited Spring and Summer driving.
Before coming to Canford Classics via Hong Kong, the ‘67 was painted in a non-Porsche “Cadillac Gold” - something we were asked to change. Porsche Gold Metallic was chosen to keep the car close to the intended build spec but crucially, much more Porsche! The magnesium Minilite wheels (clad in Avon CR6ZZ tyres), Cibie bonnet lights, R2 Scheels and roll hoop are all present and correct, as built when the car was Stateside.
More recently, the current owner has completed various events with the car both at home in the UK, and abroad. He commissioned a new “salt and pepper” carpet set along with a pair of PMO carburettors and a tuning session on the rolling road with West Tuning - making an impressive 182bhp!
The body is largely original, as can be seen with the factory original underseal. There are many details on this ‘67 that have usually been lost over time! Suspension was treated to an overhaul when the car was imported and still presents well. The engine performs very well and gearbox is a lovely example of the early 901 style ‘box. The interior is fantastically original (other than the afore mentioned items) with the fit, finish and patina only available from a lot of time spent caring for a car.
